Summary of the work To conduct linkage and analysis of the NHS 111/999 and clinical outcomes data from various services (e.g. emergency departments) and predictive modelling work to support improved clinical triage. This will also involve supporting the development and implementation of the Data Insights service. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 6 months Latest start date Wednesday 31 October 2018 Maximum Day Rate £550 - currently outside IR35. Early Market Engagement Supplier/provider webinars conducted in April 2018. Who Speclialist Work With Data work-stream will include information and business analysts, technical architects with the input from other specialists across the programme team and wider organisation. What Specialists Work On As part of the wider Urgent and Emergency Care Strategy CTP programme is looking at improving clinical decision support system and using linked data across patient journey to support this process. There is a limited evidence/system observability of the triage efficiency within UEC. This work will help to collect, link and analyse data (including use of statistical modelling and data science techniques) at national level and provide insights to further improve the systems/services. Skills & Experience • Advanced knowledge and experience of SAS and SQL • Coding of analytical algorithms • Demonstrable experience of working within a fast-paced environment, in an analyst or data scientist role • Conducting and interpreting complex analysis and reconciling conflicting information to reach a conclusion • Investigating and resolving data quality issues • Problem solving in novel areas • Excellent written and verbal communications skills • Experience of producing reports and presentations for both specialist and non-technical audiences • Planning skills and ability to work with conflicting priorities • Experience of working with health data Nice to Haves • Knowledge and experience of using other analytical tools, e.g. Power BI • Experience of data science and programming Work Location Skipton House, London SE1 6LH Working Arrangments On-site Security Clearance Standard NHS Digital Security clearance is required. Any staff that are required to work with Personal Confidential Data (PCD) must be security cleared. Is there an incumbent in this position?- will they be applying for this role? Yes, this is an ongoing requirement and there is an opportunity for the incumbent person to apply, however it is an open vacancy and all candidates will be marked fairly. 2. Please could you clarify what level of clearance the candidate will need. i.e BPSS, CTC, SC. BPSS should be sufficient for this role 3. Is there an option for remote working ? Occasional remote working is accepted, but we expect at least 4 days a week working on-site. The two main sites are London (preferable option) and Leeds 4. Is there a team already there looking into data or will this interim be the only one? Yes, there is currently a team looking into data 5. Will you support SC Clearance or must the resource already have SC clearance? The resource should have BPSS clearance. Our policy states that staff on work packages are subject to these checks from their employer, so we expect the checks to be completed prior to the start of their employment with NHS Digital.
