Tender description

The purpose of this framework is to provide a call-off mechanism for requirements relating to the purchase design, delivery and installation of Commercially Of The Shelf (COTS) telecoms equipment. The framework procurement shall establish a set of suppliers to provide the mechanism by which CP6 New Technology Introduction (NTI) can be delivered, rolled out plus the relevant third line support. The scope will cover all telecoms and network equipment – Voice, Data and Security. Network Rail wishes to establish a framework contract to facilitate the effective and efficient procurement of goods and services to support its telecommunications services, which include both fixed and radio communications. The scope of the telecommunications services includes, but is not limited to, operational rail telecommunications. In establishing the framework, Network Rail wishes to identify those suppliers with a capability in the supply of Telecommunications Equipment and Software (“Goods”) in support of projects initiated by NRT. Network Rail is particularly interested in those suppliers that can offer design, installation and configuration, and maintenance and support services related to the equipment and software that allows Network Rail to more easily design in, implement, deploy and commission the equipment and software, including a capability of providing standardised solutions such as pre-configured modular designs consisting of multiple network elements that can be deployed across the Network Rail telecommunications infrastructure, where the design is undertaken in conjunction with and agreed by NRT.
