Railway depot construction work

Tender description

As part of the Department for Transport HLOS scheme, plans have been developed to increase rolling stock numbers which consequently increase maintenance activities and birthing requirements. One of the locations for increased birthing is Farnham depot, where three additional sidings are planned. At this stage only 'Expressions of Interest' are invited. Please note that no information about this project is available on www.southwesternrailway.com. All the information available at present is contained in the body of this notice. All the interested organizations will be invited to respond to SSQ. Following the evaluation of SSQ bidders will be down selected to be invited to tender for the works. The scope of works includes for the installation of the permanent way shall incorporate the reuse of existing track components where possible and shall include all works necessary for preparation and installation of the permanent way, ETE, cabling, track bed, drainage, existing and new services as required. The works shall include for: Adaption and modification as necessary of existing services within and around the area of the new siding, including, but not limited to: — lighting and CCTV to buffers, walkways and maintenance platforms, — water supplies, — drainage, — AC power supplies and installations, — DC traction power supplies and installations. New services installations will include: Additional traction supply to the new siding. Small power and lighting. All the interested organizations will be invited to respond to SSQ. Following the evaluation of SSQ bidders will be down selected to be invited to tender for the works. Short listed bidders will be issued ITT documentation and the contract will be awarded under the JCT 2016 D&B Form of contract and a Schedule of Amendments.
