Tender description

The work will involve take down the existing parapet to 400mm below footway level and set aside acceptable masonry stonework for reuse. Acceptable coping stones are to be set aside for reuse. Mottram Road Retaining Wall (Structure No. 719) is located on the south side of Mottram Road in Hyde (Grid Reference SJ 96713 95135). The wall is constructed from pointed random coursed masonry and is aligned approximately from southeast to northwest and supports the carriageway /south pedestrian footway of Mottram Road. The wall has a maximum retained height of 2.5m and a minimum retained height of 1.7m. The wall runs for an approximate length of 22m. The approximate width of the north footway is 1.69m.
