In order to ensure compliance with custom regulation changes due to be implemented in the next couple of years and in order to support the outbound international growth of its parcels business, an post is looking for a technology solution that will deliver the following functionalities: see full description of summary of requirements documents below. Summary of Requirements: In order to ensure compliance with custom regulation changes due to be implemented in the next couple of years and in order to support the outbound international growth of its parcels business, an post is looking for a technology solution that will deliver the following functionalities: 1) For Irish based personal customers sending parcels outside of the EU, an post is looking for a system providing the ability to: (a) record parcel related data such as: — senders’ details, — recipient’s details, — description of content, — value, — international tariff code,... through a web-enabled front-end engine, (b) take and process payment by credit card/online payments systems; (c) produce customised label and relevant custom documentation that can be shared (print, emai..); (d) create a custom record for the specific parcel in various format that can be passed onto the relevant destination country custom authorities. 2) For Irish based businesses sending parcels outside of the EU, an post is looking for a system providing the ability to: (a) accept file transfer of parcel related custom data such as senders’ details, recipient’s details, description of content, value, international tariff code,... through an API or other technical means; (b) produce customised label and relevant custom documentation that can be printed and applied on the parcel; (c) create a custom record for the specific parcel in various format that can be passed onto the relevant destination country custom authorities. An post’s preference is to use an already developed and well established technology solution to address both sets of requirements. Where required, customisation will need to be kept to a minimum. Process: In advance of tendering an post will use this notice period to conduct market research to assist in establishing its requirements for the service.
