Why the Work is Being Done Public Health England (PHE) are exploring a number of novel ways to improve the public’s health and well-being through digital interventions; this proof of concept, to be delivered by mid-2019, will assess one or more ways of supporting individuals in adopting healthier behaviours. Problem to Be Solved New digital technologies are emerging in the health and wellbeing space that may deliver health benefits to citizens. The effectiveness of these types of intervention needs to be assessed. Thus, a rapid but effective proof of concept approach must be developed and potentially implemented with one or more interventions. Who Are the Users Users are people in England who will benefit from being supported in adopting healthier behaviours. Early Market Engagement None Work Already Done PHE have completed an internal Discovery phase. Existing Team PHE are building a team of national and regional experts in a number of areas such as health economics and behavioural science that will support the delivery team. Current Phase Alpha Work Location The work can be performed from any location but is likely to be co-ordinated by staff in Manchester, London and other areas in the UK. Working Arrangments Work may be carried out from multiple locations including the Supplier’s offices. Attendance at offices in Manchester, London and in other locations around England will be required for meetings. Supplier staff are expected to be on-site at locations sufficient to manage relationships with senior stakeholders; the exemplar project team and users; and, stakeholders and users in other organisations so that the outcomes of the project may be met Security Clearance Not required, DBS checks may be required. Additional T&Cs None Skills & Experience E1) Recent (within 3 years) and demonstrable experience of using existing mobile apps to support people adopting healthier behaviours. E2) Recent (within 3 years) and demonstrable experience of working with commercial and / or public health partners in the delivery of digital intervention projects. E3) Recent (within 3 years) and demonstrable experience of running proof of concept projects. Nice to Haves N1) Experience of working with regional public heath bodies. N2) Experience of working with public sector organisations such as central and / or local government No. of Suppliers to Evaluate 5 Proposal Criteria P1) Propose how you would devise a proof of concept that uses an existing digital health intervention in regional context such as the North West or London (40 points) P2) Propose how you would engage with potential partners such as app providers/ retail/corporations in order to expand the reach of the proof of concept.
