North Yorkshire County Council wishes to award a contract for the construction of a replacement school for Overdale Community Primary School in Eastfield, Scarborough. The school will be a 420 place, 2 form entry school with additional nursery places and community facilities. The new school will be predominantly of single storey construction with the hall expressed as a higher volume. The building will have a contemporary appearance and use brickwork and through colour render on the external wall elevations. Roofs will be duo-pitched with fibre cement tiles and powder coated patent glazing. Overhangs to selected elevations provide solar shading and a cover to various entrance points around the building perimeter. Windows and doors are predominantly powder coated aluminium with curtain walling sections. Also included — installation of: — solar panels, — creation of hardstanding, — perimeter fencing and gates, — car parking, — associated earthworks, — soft and hard landscaping.
