Tender for the Manufacture of Specialist Structural Glazing for the AUB Innovation Studio

Arts University Bournemouth has won funding from the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (DLEP) to build a new state of the art incubation facility to support digital and creative industries throughout Dorset. The University is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to manufacture, supply and install the specialist structural glazing into the contemporary and bespoke Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structure. CRAB Studio has been appointed as architects to design the Innovation Studio and have sought to develop a building which is both functional and inspiring. AKTII are the structural engineers for the project and have designed and engineered the cross laminate structure. The specialist structural glazing is intrinsic to the buildings design and will illuminate the Studio through a mixture of facade glazing and skylights. PT Projects are the University's Quantity Surveyors and Contract Administrators for this project and are assisting the University in this procurement process. The successful bidder will be appointed as a domestic Sub-Contractor to a Main Contractor (yet to be selected) under the terms of the JCT Standard Form of Building Contract Without Quantities and With Contractor Design.
