Stansted Airport Ltd has offered a Sound Insulation Grant Scheme since 2005, offering households within certain noise level areas acoustic insulation. Based on historical analysis it is expected that over a 10 year period, 50 % of eligible residents will take up the scheme, on this basis, 1 000 properties will require sound insulation in line with recommendations from a home insulation survey. This will initially be for a 1 year period, to establish residence interest in the scheme. Stansted Airport Ltd is looking for expressions of interest for a professional services company to manage the process from start to finish and carry out all the works. Expressions of interest for a Professional Service Company to manage the process and carry out all works to eligible residential properties in relation to Stansted Airport Ltd's Sound Insulation Grant Scheme. The main tasks will involve but are not limited to the following: — assess residential applications, — arrange appointments for a surveyor to visit each residential property to assess the current noise situation, — provide recommendation reports for insulation requirements with detailed justification of sound reduction methods. The supplier is to seek approval from Stansted Airport Ltd for the proposed costs. The professional service company upon approval is to arrange for all the necessary works to be carried out at a time and date agreed with the homeowner. The type of insulation to be offered will be dependent on the individual residential property but is expected to comprise of the following: — double glazing, — roof insulation and — mechanical ventilation. The varying types of insulation will need to be supplied and installed by the professional services company. They will also then be responsible for carryout all inspections upon completion of any works and Stansted Airport Ltd must receive confirmation that the relevant sound reduction specification for the residential property has been met.
