Tender description

The Authority is looking to appoint a Service Provider(s) to deliver Extra Care Services at 2 settings in Lancashire: — Lot 1: Greenbrook House is an Extra Care scheme located in Whitworth, East Lancashire with 24 hour care services. The scheme has 42 flats. — Lot 2: Brookside is an Extra Care scheme located in Ormskirk, West Lancashire. This is a large development with 111 self-contained apartments, including around 80 2 bedroom apartments. Tenderer can apply for one or both Lots and can be successful in one or both Lots. The Contracts will be for an initial 2 years, with the option to extend for any period(s) of up to a maximum of a further 2 years. Extra care housing provides safe and secure self-contained accommodation for older adults who require varying levels of care and support to enable them to live independently in a home environment. The new service is to deliver the background support and emergency response service as well as any require Planned Care and Support Lot 1 Greenbrook House is an Extra Care scheme located in Whitworth, East Lancashire with 24 hour care services. The scheme has 42 flats and there are currently 24 service users using the scheme. The successful tenderer will provide onsite staff to provide background support and emergency response services through the Block Funding. This service benefits all service user (tenants and leaseholders) and is not allocated to any one individual. In addition the contract will also include planned care via the spot arrangement for service users who have chosen to have their assessed care and support needs met by the on-site provider. Currently approx. 290 hours a week planned care is being delivered at the scheme, tenderers should note that there is no guarantee of the number of care and support hours that the service provider will be required to deliver, it is service user's choice which service provider they wish to receive their care and support from. It is our intention that the Contract will commence in March 2019. Lot 2 Brookside is an Extra Care scheme located in Ormskirk, West Lancashire. This is a large development with 111 self-contained apartments, including around 80 2 bedroom apartments. There are currently 34 service users using the scheme. The successful tenderer will provide onsite staff to provide Background Support and Emergency Response Services through the Block funding. This service benefits all Service User (tenants and leaseholders) and is not allocated to any one individual. In addition the contract will also include Planned Care on a Spot Arrangement for service users who have chosen to have their assessed care and support needs met by the on-site provider. Currently approx. 320 hours a week Planned Care is being delivered at the Scheme, tenderers should note that there is no guarantee of the number of care and support hours that the Service Provider will be required to deliver, it is Service User's choice which Service Provider they wish to receive their care and support from. It is our intention that the Contract will commence in March 2019.
