PEACE 1V - V36 Urban Sports Park - Develop and Construct

The Contract is for the provision of a Contractor to deliver (develop* & construct) the V36 Urban Sports Park project. The urban sports park will be a purpose-built recreational environment for skateboarding, Parkour, BMX, scooter, wheelchair and inline skating. The project is located at Valley Park, Church Road, Newtownabbey BT36 7LJ. See Annex 1 location plan. Project Scope – concrete urban sports park (1,300m²) suitable for skateboarding, BMX, roller blading and free running. Associated landscape works include asphalt concrete linkage paths, fencing and floodlighting. The park will consist of 3no. bespoke areas; Bowl, Street and Plaza areas with suitable flow and transition between these areas. The Contractor will be responsible for developing the design of the concrete urban sports park* excluding the associated landscape works. *concrete urban sports park has been taken to developed design stage. The Contractor will be responsible for completing this design including drainage. The design of the associated landscape works has been completed. It is envisaged a specialist urban sports park contractor will be appointed by the Contractor to complete the design/works. Project Complexity – management of specialist urban sports park contractor, completion of design of concrete urban sports park, location within Valley Park, traffic management, multiple stakeholder input and funder’s programme.
