Tender description

North Yorkshire County Council currently commissions a mental health supported housing service in Scarborough. The service provides housing-related and other support, in order to enable people with mental health issues to maximise and sustain their independence in the community and achieve their goals. Support provided by the service could, for example, include tenancy related support, meaningful activities, support around financial planning and budgeting, personal administration, health and wellbeing and social networks and relationships. The service supports people aged 18 and over who have a demonstrable need for support to enable access to housing and set up a home, are accessing secondary mental health services and have been assessed as having low – medium support needs. The service is delivered in designated accommodation in Scarborough owned by Broadacres, comprising six individual flats. The maximum duration of support for each individual accessing the service is two years. Referrals into the service are made by secondary mental health services and an allocations panel assesses the suitability of referrals and allocated properties. The annual contract value for providing this service is £37,941.00. Although the current contract is due to end on 30th September 2019 there is a one-year extension available, and the Council is in the process of confirming the extension for the other supported housing contracts which were originally commissioned alongside this service. The end date for any new contract would therefore be 30th September 2020. Due to a change in circumstances the incumbent provider is not able to commit to the contract extension. The Council is therefore seeking alternative options to secure service provision to the end of September 2020, and we would like to invite you to complete this short survey in order to inform planning and next steps for this service.
