Summary of the work Power BI Developer for HMPO's BI transformation project, working within an agile delivery team to iteratively build and implement a BI service in collaboration with the project team to deliver in Beta. SQL Server is chosen as underlying BI data platform. Who Speclialist Work With There is a small team allocated to this work formed of 1 Product Manager, 1 BA, 1 BI Technical Lead, 1 Power BI developer, 1 Lead Architect, 1 Dev-ops Engineer. What Specialists Work On 1) Understanding user needs and designing services to support them. 2) Develop interactive reports and dashboards for visual insights using Power BI on premises AWS. 3) Implement Microsoft SQL databases and data warehouse services to as per the BI design and requirements 5) Implement data feeds to private cloud data stores using Data connectors. 6) Writing SQL queries 7) Document the low level technical details as per the project's technical governance. 8) Carry out and support knowledge transfer to non-technical business units Skills & Experience • Have demonstrable experience of using Power BI to develop interactive reports and dashboards for visual insights. • Have demonstrable experience of using Microsoft SQL Server databases and data warehouse services • Have demonstrable experience of using Data connectors to private cloud data stores • Adept at writing DAX calculations. Nice to Haves • Have demonstrable experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams, particularly those with limited agile development experience. Work Location London, Westminster. Working Arrangments Work is based in London and will involve the supplier being on site 4 days per week to work collaboratively with Her Majesty’s Passport Office teams; travel and expenses remains the responsibility of the supplier. Service design and development must align with the Her Majesty’s Passport Office strategic technical architecture and technologies. Security Clearance SC Clearance is required. HM Passport Office will support the clearance process. Additional T&Cs Breakpoints to assess progress and quality will be set at the end of Beta phase. What is the IR35 status and is there a current incumbent? We expect this engagement to be outside IR35, however status is assessed on a case-by-case basis. The role is currently vacant. 2. Can you please confirm exactly where in London this will be based? The location for this role will be at Petty France, Westminster 3. Our specialists day rate is higher than our quoted rate on the system, would you consider adjusting this to accommodate our specialist?
