Tender description

On 8.1.2018, Lidl Ireland GmbH (Lidl) was granted planning permission by Kildare County Council (Reference number 17/563 and 17/564) for the construction of a major distribution centre on lands on the Outskirts of Newbridge. A number of conditions were included in the planning permission including conditions in relation to development of a section of the Newbridge Southern Orbital Relief Road (NSORR). The contract the subject of this notice is being entered pursuant to the planning conditions. Under the contract, Lidl will bear the full costs and expenses incurred in the design, construction, site supervision and completion of the works and the full implementation of the project less a contribution from the Council in the amount of 3 194 907,19 EUR (inclusive of all vat, outlays, taxes etc). A number of conditions were included in the planning permission in relation to development of a section of the Newbridge Southern Orbital Relief Road (NSORR). The conditions require Lidl to enter into a legal agreement with Kildare County Council for the development of a 1,6 km section of the NSORR including: — planning, — ancillary landscaping, — lighting, — attenuation and drainage works.
