Tender description

The Trust requires a company to provide data cabling services of a nominated manufacturer. IT Infrastructure at Musgrove Park Hospital has increased at steady rate for the past 15 years. Coming from historical BNC connections, serial comms running back to old legacy servers, through Category 5, 5e, 6 all the way up to modern standards of Category 6a / 7 backbone with multicore, single mode Blown fibre. Musgrove Park is at the cutting edge ensuring the most efficient data transfer speeds. The future is always a little uncertain in the IT world, technology moves so quickly, yet with the advent of Internet Of Things (IOT) the requirements for faster and more reliable networks will require more and more network points. Musgrove has additional new buildings in the pipeline, the replacement of the old Theatre and Intensive Care block will replace the Second World War single storey structure with a modern, multi storey facility, with an estimated 1 000 or so network points. All systems and equipment shall be installed by an accredited CommScope Premier and Authorised Integrator/installer. All installation work shall be covered by a CommScope 25 year warranty. It is anticipated that the Trust will require call outs within one hour of the request. This Prior Information Notice will provide an opportunity for early market engagement with suppliers to better understand options (types of solution and approaches) and Inform the future procurement route to market.
