Tender description
NHS Supply Chain seeks to establish a Framework Agreement to supply a range of airway management products used within theatres, wards, ICU and A and E areas within healthcare environments. Products within this framework include: — endotracheal tubes, — tracheostomy tubes, — laryngeal masks, — laryngoscopes, — video laryngoscopes, — Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) sets and kits; — breathing system circuits; — breathing filters; — breathing circuits; — endobronchial tubes and blockers; — nasopharyngeal tubes; — oropharyngeal tubes and any accessories relating to these products. It is anticipated that the initial expenditure will be in the region of 64 380 000 GBP and 85 800 000 GBP in the first 24 months of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. The estimated value of the total Framework Agreement term (including any extension options) of between 128 760 000 GBP to 171 600 000 GBP. Endotracheal (ET) tubes are inserted through the mouth or nose in order to maintain a patient airway and also allow the delivery of gases. Products within this Lot include: • Standard ET tubes; • Reinforced ET tubes; • Preformed ET tubes; • Translucent and opaque ET tubes; • Cuffed and un-cuffed variants; • Bougies (introducers); • Stylets (malleable wire to aid insertion); • Exchange catheters (thin flexible tubes); • ET tube holders and fasteners/clamps; • Accessories which includes equipment that would be used to connect a tube to another piece of equipment, bite guards for protection during product use, products for measuring and inflating cuffs; and • Sets which include more than one of the product lines contained within this Lot compiled in convenient to use packs. • NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line. Laryngeal masks are used for anaesthesia and inserted orally with the mask sitting over the laryngeal opening and a connected tube left protruding from the mouth. Products within this Lot include: • Standard masks; • Reinforced masks; • First line interventional airways; • Video laryngeal masks; • Accessories which includes equipment that directly connects to a mask to enable its operation, products for measuring and inflating cuffs, atomisation devices, bite guards for protection during product use, products that directly assist in the placement, use or removal of the mask; and • Sets which include more than one of the product lines contained within this Lot compiled in convenient to use packs. • NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line Laryngoscopes are handled medical instruments with interchangeable blades of different sizes used within the throat to enable access to the vocal chords and glottis and to aid intubation. Products within this Lot include: • Complete laryngoscopes systems; • Laryngoscope handles; • Laryngoscope blades; • Light sources; and • Accessories which includes equipment that is required to operate the laryngoscopes such as batteries, recharging units, battery containers, or bulbs. • NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line Video laryngoscopes are a handle and blade unit with a camera lens or monitor, used within the throat to enable visualisation of the vocal chords and glottis and to aid intubation. This Lot also includes portable intubation scopes including handle, monitor and insertion cord. Products within this Lot include: • Portable single use video laryngoscope systems; • Portable reusable video laryngoscope systems; • Single use blades, stats or sheaths; • Single use handles; • Single use and reusable one piece handle and blade units; • Reusable monitors; • Reusable blades; • Reusable handles; • Single use flexible intubation video endoscopes; and • Accessories which includes replacement parts for the video laryngoscopes and items of equipment that are required in order for the video laryngoscope to be used e.g. monitors, modules, battery packs, carry cases, charging units, connection cables, imagers, batons, wands, blades, stats, stylets, pole mounts, trolleys, protection caps, stands, user manuals. • NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line A tracheostomy tube is inserted directly into the trachea via a hole made into the neck allowing a patient to breathe without using their nose or mouth. Products within this Lot include: • Tracheostomy tubes; • Cannulas; • Tracheostomy tube holders; • Tracheostomy fasteners; • Cricothyroidotomy emergency catheter sets; • Atomiser sprays; • Percutaneous single stage dilation sets; • Accessories which includes replacement parts for the tracheostomy tube, equipment that directly connects to a tracheostomy tube to enable its operation, products that offer patient comfort during the tube use and products required to maintain the tracheostomy tube e.g. products for measuring and inflating cuffs, atomisation devices, cleaning kits, plugs, adaptors, filters, speaking valves; and • Sets to include more than one of the product lines contained within this Lot compiled in convenient to use packs. • NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, is a treatment that uses mild air pressure to keep the airways open. The products in this Lot must be suitable for use in an Acute Healthcare setting to treat cases such as cardiogenic pulmonary oedema. Products within this lot include: • CPAP Set; and • CPAP Kits. • NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line This Lot is for the supply of parts that make up the anaesthetic breathing systems and the critical care breathing systems. These systems attach to universal and specified anaesthetic machines, universal and specified ventilator machines as well as universal and specified flow drivers used within operating rooms, recovery, emergency and intensive care environments. These parts will include the circuit as well as the breathing filters, Heat and Moisture Exchange (HME’s) and Heat and Moisture Exchange Filters (HMEF’s) used on the system at both patient and machine ends as well as the catheter mounts, elbows and connectors that make up the system. Products within this Lot include: • Coaxial circuits; • Parallel Y breathing circuits; • Humidified parallel Y circuits; • Mapleson A parallel lack circuits; • Mapleson A magill circuits; • Mapleson C circuits, also known as also known as resuscitation sets, bagging sets or water circuits; • Mapleson D circuits; • Mapleson F jackson-rees circuits; • Infant T-piece paediatric circuits; • Single limb circuit systems for use in CPAP; • Transport ventilator circuits; • Breathing filters; • Accessories; and • Breathing circuits and catheter mount tubing. NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line This Lot is for the supply of endobronchial products used to achieve one sided lung ventilation during thoracic surgery. Products shall be suitable for left or right orientations and can be supplied with or without a cranial hook. Products within this Lot include: • Single Lumen endobronchial tubes single use, used during thoracic surgery to achieve selective, one-sided ventilation of either the right or the left lung; • Double lumen endobronchial tubes single use, used during thoracic surgery to achieve selective one-sided ventilation of either the right or the left lung; and • Endobronchial blockers single use used during thoracic surgery to achieve selective, one-sided ventilation of either the right or the left lung. NHS Supply Chain anticipates appointing all Applicants who meet the minimum requirements which are set out in these tender documents and whose total score meets or exceeds the hurdle of at 45 % for the Product Line Oropharyngeal Airways (OPA) also known as Guedel, are tubes which are inserted through the mouth, maintaining an open airway by preventing the tongue from covering the epiglottis. Oropharyngeal airways within this Lot include; • Reusable; • Single use; • With bite blocks; • One piece units; and • With guide channel. Nasopharyngeal Airways (NPA) are tubes designed to open a channel between the nostril and the nasopharynx, bypassing any obstruction in the upper airway. Nasopharyngeal airways within this Lot include; • Reusable; • Single use; • Flanged; • Bevelled/Angled tip; and • Silicone, PVC, rubber.
