Who Speclialist Work With Working in a multi-disciplinary agile team, including frontend developers, designers and user researchers. The team is led by a product manager and delivery manager and works very closely with other parts of the great.gov.uk team. What Specialists Work On - Backend development for the Automation team on great.gov.uk - Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code - Integration of data storage solutions - Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic - Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems - Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization Where the Work Takes Place Windsor House, 50 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0TL Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements Full time working on site, but with the option to work from home when needed. Work Location Windsor House, 50 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0TL Security Clearance All staff should have minimum BPSS level security clearance. Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Demonstrable extensive experience and expertise in Ruby and the Rails framework (1%) Demonstrable extensive experience and expertise in Sidekiq or a similar background async framework using Ruby (1%) Demonstrable experience and expertise in Python 3 (1%) Demonstrable experience and expertise in Python Django web framework (1%) Demonstrable experience and expertise in Celery or a similar background async framework using Python (1%) Demonstrable extensive experience and expertise in Postgresql (1%) Demonstrable extensive experience and expertise in Elasticsearch (1%) Experience working with Agile methodologies, TDD (Test Driven Development) and (CI & CD) Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using Scrum, Jenkins and custom internal tooling (1%) Experience in writing unit tests and integration tests (1%) Experience in designing and building REST APIs (1%) Nice to Haves Demonstrable experience in OAuth 2 integration (as a consumer of service) (1%) Demonstrable experience with Heroku or GOV.UK PaaS (1%) Demonstrable experience in setting up and managing a test pipeline (1%) Have the interest in DevOps operations and willingness to collaborate with and help DevOps in operations and second level support (1%) Demonstrable experience with Government Service development (1%) No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria Work as a team with our organisation and other suppliers (5%) Take responsibility for their work (5%) Be transparent and collaborative when making decisions (5%) Share knowledge and experience with other team members, including members of the civil service (5%) Assessment Method Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 60% Cultural fit 20% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers Budget range £600
