1.0 Background The recruitment and retention of social workers and managers working with children and families is a business critical area for the local authority. The council’s children’s service was rated inadequate by Ofsted in 2017. We have made improvements to a number of areas of the service. One area that needs further improvement is the recruitment of permanent staff including Team Managers. The council have a number of vacancies for this role which they want to recruit to on a permanent basis. 2.0 Our Objectives We want to work with a provider to source permanent 10 Team Managers for our safeguarding and assessment teams at our six locality offices. Candidates will be short-listed and assessed by the council. Candidates who are deemed to be successful following an assessment process will be offered a salary within the grade determined by the council. Recruitment checks for successful candidates will be carried out by the council based on the council’s compliance requirements. Payment for the contract will be made once all 10 Team Manager commence employment with the council. Keywords: Recruitment
