Tender description

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University local health board who sought to establish a contract for a partner to keep our patients safe and well next Winter. To keep patients safe and well next winter, the Cardiff and Vale University health board are committed to accelerating the transformation of their unscheduled care system in line with their strategy: shaping our future wellbeing. To achieve these ambitions, the health board were looking to work with a partner with a proven track record of supporting integrated health organisations successfully deliver sustained transformational improvement in the unscheduled care domain. The partnership will help the health board understand how they have delivered their successful approach and how this knowledge and best practice can be utilised, localised and incorporated into the winter planning process aligned with the strategic direction. The health board require a partner to: 1) Support the early delivery of whole system improvements in patient flow and capacity management in order to address near term challenges and develop long term resilience to variation in demand; 2) Support, enhance and expand the current service improvement and development Programme to increase the capacity and capability to deliver transformational change and continuous improvement across all sectors of care; 3) Support the UHB’s informatics department in providing the information and quantitative service improvement tools, either directly through the existing IBM business intelligence Platform or via a secondary platform, which acquires data directly from the extensive intelligence warehouse, to support this transformation Programme.
