Tender description

The Council is seeking a service provider to assist people to establish and sustain their homes to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of homelessness through the provision of household furnishings, domestic appliances and support services — Including a befriending service and painting and decorating. The Council is looking to procure a service to provide support to establish a home. The service provider will assist individuals on low incomes by providing household furnishings to establish and sustain a home and also providing further support through offering support services including befriending and painting and decorating. The provider will assist people to establish and sustain their homes to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of homelessness through the provision of furnishings and support. The provider will work with people 16 years and older, including single people, couples and families who have recently experienced homelessness and are now moving into a new tenancy situated within the City of Edinburgh Council Local Authority boundaries. The objectives are: (a) service users receive furnishings, including something to sit on, something to sleep on and something to cook with. This will include a bed, chair(s) and cooker or microwave; (b) service users receive support to live more independently through the offering of a befriending service; and (c) service users are assisted with home decoration.
