Dumfries and Galloway Council is currently seeking expressions of interest in relation to a variety of waste treatment and disposal services. Dumfries and Galloway Council will be going to market to procure a variety of waste treatment and disposal services across of variety of waste streams. Below is a list of some of the potential waste streams: — residual waste (mixed “black bag” waste), — mechanical biological treatment — solid recovered fuel, rejects, fines, dust, by-pass and glass, CSP and organics, dust, — bulky waste, — green waste, — loose mixed paper and cardboard, — loose mixed paper, — baled mixed paper and cardboard, — textiles and shoes, — treatment of glass, — car batteries, — mixed cans, plastic bottles and mixed paper, — non-ferrous cans and mixed plastic bottles, — loose mixed cans, — baled plastic bottles, — loose plastic bottles, — baled ferrous cans, — treatment and disposal of gas bottles (including fire extinguishers), — treatment of mixed scrap metal, — treatment and disposal of inert wastes and rubble, — domestic and commercial food waste, — treatment and disposal of waste oil, — treatment and disposal of gas bottles, — treatment of shredded and non-shredded wood, — treatment and disposal of street sweepings and gully waste, — treatment and disposal of tyres, — road kill, wild animals and domestic pets, — Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) — domestic and commercial, — Asbestos, — tyres. * Please note this is an indicitive list, may be subject to change and there may be additional waste streams required when the council goes to market.*
