Professional Building Consultancy Services for Disabled Adaptation Works

Clanmil HA on behalf of Abbeyfield & Wesley HA and Connswater Homes require aBuilding Surveyor Consultancy Services in the Lead capacity for a range of Disability Adaptation projects. Projects will range in scale of size and complexity. The works will be delivered either by directly appointed contractors who have tendered for works and where the works are to be measured and valuations agreed in accordance with Measured Term Contracts, including various priced schedules of rates, or as individually tendered packages/projects prepared by the consultant. Disability adaptation project types may include: • Bathroom conversions – shower installations etc. • Installation of wash/dry toilets • Kitchen conversion and/or replacement • Door widening/automation • Installation of stair lifts and through floor lifts • Change of heating systems • Construction of ramped access • Building extensions This list shows examples of the types of adaptations that may be required and is not exhaustive. Appendix 1 provides a breakdown and construction value of the types of works orders issued for adaptations projects by Clanmil in the past 18 months. The majority of adoptions are in the Clanmil stock portfolio. While the successful tenderer will be the sole and Lead Consultant in respect of disability adaptation projects, individual Member Associations may have their own contractual arrangements for other associated consultancy services. The appointed Building Surveying consultancy practice will be required to liaise and co-operate fully with these consultancy practices as appropriate to each project. The above paragraph is only a short form description of the Services. The Consultant shall provide the Services in accordance with the information provided in the accompanying Contract Data document.
