Mussel Larval Monitoring and Technical Projects

Tender description

BIM would now like to invite tenders to provide a service to identify and monitor mussel larvae, on a weekly basis, from samples collected as part of the Irish Sea Portal Pilot project (ISPP) and the Bluefish project (funded under the EU Ireland Wales Programme 2014 to 2020). In addition BIM undertakes various technical projects with the Salmon Farm Sector. These range from testing and developing prototype equipment or improving husbandry and handling techniques as well as fish health treatments.The work is to be carried out in Ireland. The duration of the proposed work is May 2018 to December 2020. The successful tenderer will be required to demonstrate the delivery of a high quality and reliable service. They must have a proven track record in monitoring of mussel larvae and the successful tenderer must demonstrate knowledge and experience in working on technical projects in the Salmon Farming Sector in Ireland. This contract will commence in May 2018 and will expire on 31st December 2020. BIM reserves the right to cancel the contract at any point giving one months’ notice. A detailed specification of requirements is set out in Section 2.
