Healthwatch England is seeking to commission an organisation to undertake a review of literature and research to help inform our work to promote effective public engagement in health and social care. Healthwatch England has identified that while the existence of legal requirements for those who design and deliver services to engage with those who use services is generally well understood, the real and tangible benefits of that engagement for those who design, provide, fund and use services is often less well understood and less easily demonstrable. We are seeking to enable Healthwatch and our local and national partners to better make the case for effective engagement activity at a time when services are in the process of being re-designed to an unprecedented level and when people's engagement with that process is more important than ever.
