Fry Model Railway Museum Exhibition Interpretation, design and installation for the Casino Building, Malahide, Co Dublin.

Tender description

Tenders are invited for the design, project management, construction, and delivery and commissioning of a complete exhibition design and interpretation to allow for the housing of the Fry Model Railway Collection at the refurbished and extended Casino building. The full research, development, conservation and construction and commissioning of the interpretative exhibition design forms part of this brief. The design should maximise the spaces available and contain significant working model train and railway layouts utilising the existing collection as appropriate. Each tenderer will be required to propose a multidisciplinary team to encompass all skills sets required to deliver on this challenging brief including (but not limited to): • Exhibition designer(s) • Conservators • Researchers • Exhibition lighting and automation designers • Interactive content designers • Model builders and railway model builders and automators • Translators • Project management and cost control • Exhibition Fitout Construction, installation and commissioning The contract will be awarded on the basis of Most Economically Advantageous Tender. The tender assessment will include a significant qualitative assessment of the proposal. It is intended that this will be a design led commission with design quality forming a central feature in the tender assessment. It is estimated that the delivery of the exhibition will begin on site in December 2018 for completion in early 2019.
