Tender description

Bamfurlong Canal Bridge is a simply supported pre-stressed concrete bridge incorporating 16 T8 beams and 4 M2 beams making up the primary deck element. The beams are supported on reinforced concrete cill beams which form a capping to the existing masonry stone abutments. The bridge carries the A58 Lily Lane over the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. The road is a two-lane carriageway carrying traffic in both directions. The works will comprise of excavation of surfacing and fill material to expose the concrete deck, removing the existing waterproofing, preparation of concrete deck to receive new buried bridge joints and new waterproofing system. This will be followed by the reinstatement of the carriageway and footway surfacing, road lining & studs and kerbs where necessary. Works also include the removal of vegetation and patch pointing.
