Tender description

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) confirms its intention to procure media strategy, planning and buying agency services to support and deliver FSCS’ Consumer awareness strategy, aligned to our 2020’s organisation strategy. The services will include supporting a forward-looking strategy, aimed at helping consumers to have understanding, awareness of protection areas and to trust FSCS to deliver. It is proposed that procurement will be published in early 2019, a new contract commencement date from September 2019. FSCS are considering holding a pre-market engagement event prior to issuing the OJEU notice. If you would be interested in attending, please e-mail Procurement@fscs.org.uk Description of the procurement: The 2020s will pose a number of new challenges for FSCS. — retail financial markets and firms will be adapting to the challenges and opportunities of Brexit, — consumers will be adopting new financial products and have higher expectations of the service they should receive, — technology will offer new opportunities to improve the ease and speed of our service reducing cost, — consumers will face more demanding choices and face correspondingly higher risks, but often with limited financial capability or other vulnerabilities, — the industry will expect FSCS to work with the regulators to reduce the risk of future failure, — customers will expect a seamless service, to help get them back on track. FSCS will invest in digital technology to realise expectations of speed, ease and customisation. We know that when consumers are aware of FSCS protection it positively affects the choices they make around financial product purchase. FSCS has always focussed on raising awareness of savings/deposit protection. From 2019, we will be moving the Programme to encompass raising awareness of all FSCS protection areas. We are in a test and learn period, and we expect the planning and buying procurement to deliver an evolved integrated strategy, agile planning and delivery with a digital first approach.
