Tender description

SNBTS requires to attain a supply of bulk liquid nitrogen at 3 of our sites; Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen. Due to variances in each sites' requirement, all tanks are differing sizes with the Aberdeen tank being the largest followed by the Glasgow tank and then Dundee. The supply will continue to be required via bulk tanks at their existing positions. Due to a number of changes that SNBTS are making, usage of LN2 at its regional centres is expected to decrease. At present, SNBTS has 3 bulk liquid nitrogen tanks at their regional transfusion centres (Aberdeen, Dundee & Glasgow) with each tank making up total capacity of approx 11,775 litres. Due to variances in each region's requirement, all tanks are differing sizes with the Aberdeen tank being the largest followed by the Glasgow tank and then Dundee. The supply will continue to be required via bulk tanks at their existing positions. Due to a number of changes that SNBTS are making, usage of LN2 at its regional centres is expected to decrease. To allow suppliers to understand the potential for reduction in LN2 requirement, information has been provided in the tender documents to give an indication of possible usage reduction. This estimation is indicative only and SNBTS cannot guarantee the volume of LN2 purchases. SNBTS will not be bound to purchase all stated quantities; however, SNBTS will endeavour to inform successful suppliers of variations in quantities where possible.
