Tender description

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) on behalf of the Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) is seeking the provision of an insurance brokerage service for a period (anticipated) from 15.12.2017 to 14.12.2022. Over the duration of this contract period significant change is likely to be seen, both internally within the MMA and with regard to the scope of work undertaken. Consequently, we are seeking to appoint an innovative, agile and bold supplier to deliver these insurance provisions. WMCA is seeking to appoint a single supplier to act as an insurance broker to source a wide range of insurance coverage on the MMA’s behalf — please refer to the full tender document set and supporting appendices for more details. The successful supplier will be required to deliver the following services: — review of MMA insurance programmes, — lead on procurement activities for each of MMA’s insurance policies, — claims handling service provision including the appointment of a reputable loss adjustor, — development of strategies to improve value for money in relation to insurance provision on a year by year basis, — provision of a dedicated core team to handle the contract including; provision of both operational and strategic advice to MMA, with face to face meetings where deemed necessary by the client, — act as MMA’s agent in relation to negotiating insurance terms and policy coverage, in placing the required coverage, in collecting and managing premiums and responding to insurers in the event of a claim, — review and support the management of MMA’s risk profile.
