Independent Reviewer to undertake an LSCB Serious Case Review Sefton Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is seeking an individual to undertake a Serious Case Review. The role will lead the review involving agencies who have been involved in the child and their family’s life and will be supported by LSCB Unit staff. It is expected that this review will commence as soon as possible and will be completed and reported in written and oral form to the LSCB by June 2018. When appointing a reviewer Working Together 2015 requires LSCBs to ‘appoint one or more suitable individuals to lead the SCR who have demonstrated that they are qualified to conduct reviews using the approach set out in this guidance.’ In advance of the LSCB appointing an independent reviewer, the LSCB requires prospective reviewers to return a statement, including submission of supporting evidence as necessary, which demonstrates to the LSCB that they are competent, suitable and qualified to undertake the review. Statement and evidence should include detail of reviews completed in the last two years, including the methodology adopted. You will need to have significant previous experience of undertaking Serious Case Reviews for an LSCB.
