Tender description

This is a PIN to advise the intentions of NHS East Riding of Yorkshire CCG to procure GP Extended Access services to patients throughout the Authority's geographical area, currently envisioned to be advertised in May 2018. The aims of the service are: 3.1.1 To provide a primary care service offering routine and pre-bookable appointments to patients 7 days a week and 365 days a year by commissioning additional GP sessions in the evenings (Monday to Friday) and weekends, to supplement existing GP services. 3.1.2 To free up time during core hours that enable practitioners to provide proactive care to patients with complex conditions, for example, the management of long-term conditions. 3.1.3 To enable NHS111 to book patients directly into primary care where clinically appropriate. 3.1.4 To promote the introduction of new technology and digital solutions in primary care. 3.1.5 To support the development of federations/consortia of practices in the East Riding. NHS East Riding of Yorkshire CCG plans to procure GP Extended Access Services to commence from 1 January 2019. The contract will be let for five years with the option to extend up to 2 years (5+2). It is currently envisioned an open procurement process will be pursued in May 2018.
