Tender description

The Department for International Development (DFID) is committed to increasing and improving the teaching and learning, at Key Stages 2 and 3, of issues related to global poverty in at least 50 % of maintained schools across the UK, through Global Learning Projects (GLPs). This will allow more school leavers to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of global poverty and the ways it can be reduced. To ensure schools across the UK are supported, DFID intends to fund Global Learning Projects (GLPs) in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The budget ranges for these projects will be proportionate to the GLPE, taking account of the population size of the 4 UK nations. The contracting authority is in the process of designing a new UK development education programme that will commence at the start of the 2018/19 academic year. The current contract expired on 30 August 2017 and a bridging contract is required with the incumbent supplier to allow for completion of services.
