Tender description

The Flood and Water Management Team at Kent County Council undertakes the council’s duties as the Lead Local Flood Authority for Kent, including investigations into significant flood events. Repeated incidences of flooding have occurred around three culverted ordinary watercourses in Kent. Two in Tunbridge Wells, the River Grom and the High Brooms Stream, and one in Ightham, the Busty Stream. Due to historical development, these watercourses are significantly culverted throughout their length, which causes and exacerbates flooding. These watercourses are currently ungauged and we are unaware of the flow regime or capacity of the watercourses under normal or flood conditions. We would like to install gauges on these watercourses to gather data on the level and/or flow in them. All questions, queries, and correspondence must go via the portal, and not via email.
