Principal Inspections and Assessment of Structures - Phase 39

Tender description

Suitably qualified and experienced civil engineering consultants are sought to undertake Principal Inspections in accordance with BD 62/07 and BD 63/17 and Assessments of highway structures in accordance with BD 56/10, BD 48/93, BD 21/01, BA 16/97, BD 44/15, BD 61/10, BA38/93, BD86/11, BA 55/06 and BD101/11. The commission comprises of a Principal Inspection and/or assessment of 27 structures (bridges, footbridges, culverts, retaining walls etc.) with the submission of an individual report for each structure. This includes completion of a CSS bridge inspection pro forma for each span of structure and the inputting into the PONTIS data base of all details recorded on the Bridge Inspection Pro Forma. This is to allow the calculation of Bridge Condition Indicators and Asset Valuations. Also the ‘Cost’ and ‘Works Details’ columns on the PONTIS inspection pro forma are to be completed. A risk assessment is also required for each structure to determined future Principal Inspection intervals in line with BD63/17. Note – 3 of the structures are on the East Lancashire Railway (ELR) line between Bury and Rawtenstall, with a further 4 structures on the Bury to Heywood line.
