The Virology Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires the provision of assays, equipment and associated consumables for an automated solution for Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) genotyping by Line Probe assay. In an effort to streamline processes the Trust is looking for a solution that requires minimal manual intervention. The current work load at STH is 1 200 samples per year. The Trust is looking to award a contract for a period of 36 months. The Virology Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires the provision of assays, equipment and associated consumables for an automated solution for Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) genotyping by Line Probe assay. In an effort to streamline processes the Trust is looking for a solution that requires minimal manual intervention. The current work load at STH is 1 200 samples per year. The Trust is looking to award a contract for a period of 36 months. All delivery, installation, commissioning, training, technical support, equipment engineering support (Parts, labour and travel for preventative maintenance and equipment repair), enabling and restorative works must be included in the offer/contract This assay fits within the laboratory’s HCV confirmatory reference panel therefore no other methodologies will be considered. The assay must be CE marked and able to distinguish HCV genotypes 1-6 and their subtypes. The assay must be capable of genotyping samples with HCV Viral load of >=2500iu/ml The solution offered must be validated for use on Serum and EDTA plasma using minimal sample volume. The samples must be able to be stored at 4C for up to 1 week. The equipment and assay kit(s) provided should be able to perform runs from 1 – 20 samples with minimal reagent wastage.
