Summary of the work Reporting to the Lead Solution Architect of the UKHO Marine Information Transformation (MINT) programme, the requirement is to upgrade existing standalone PostGIS and MongoDB servers in the MINT Core Data Platform (CDP) to High Availability (HA) instances with replication across Blue/Green Pre-Production/Production environments. Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 6 Months Latest start date Monday 29 October 2018 Maximum Day Rate 600 Who Speclialist Work With The consultancy is required within the Marine Information Transformation (MINT) Programme What Specialists Work On -Upgrade existing standalone CDP PostGIS and MongoDB database servers to multi-server High Availability (HA) deployments. -In the CDP Blue/Green Pre-Production/Production environments, implement cross-environment replication of data between the respective HA PostGIS and HA MongoDB deployments. -Extend existing Ansible playbooks to automate the deployment of the HA PostGIS and MongoDB instances described above. -Carry out the above with minimal impact to ongoing system delivery, using the existing CI/CD pipeline. Note that a Hadoop distribution migration of the CDP will take place concurrently, as well as a move to new business premises. The above work must dovetail with these activities Skills & Experience • • Demonstrable experience of working as a technical SME within a project environment, using Agile methodologies. • • Expertise in the following technologies: Ansible, OpenLDAP, Active Directory • • Expertise in Linux system administration, especially CentOS and Red Hat • • Understanding of security of UNIX systems, especially CentOS and Red Hat • • Experience of administering network security including configuring firewalls, Kerberos, LDAP and SSSD • • Experience of version control using Git Work Location United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, Admiralty Way, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 2DN Working Arrangments Full-time, 5 days a week - Onsite Security Clearance Security Check (SC) or Disclosure of Scotland as a minimum No. of Specialists to Evaluate 5 Cultural Fit Criteria • Demonstrable ability to maintain strong relations with internal and external stakeholders.
