GB-Poole: External Audit Services

Tender description

The 4 Dorset NHS Foundation Trusts: Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch, Poole Hospital, Dorset HealthCare and Dorset County Hospital have undertaken a joint procurement process for a comprehensive and efficient External Audit Service which will assist each Trust in meeting its roles and responsibilities, whilst maintaining the necessary level of professional independence. The primary requirement is the provision of an audit service that fulfils all of the requirements of the Code of Audit Practice ("the Code"), issued by the National Audit Office and effective from April 2015. The Code prescribes how auditors of Foundation Trusts should carry out their work. The auditors' primary responsibility is to the NHS Foundation Trust's Council of Governors. Auditors may also be responsible to the National Audit Office for the exercise of some functions, as set out in paragraph 1.16, of the above code and will have responsibilities to the members of the NHS Foundation Trust, as well as the wider public, in the case of public interest reports.
