Tender description

A new curriculum is being developed for settings and schools in Wales through a collaborative process between Welsh Government, regional consortia and school based practitioners. The new curriculum will be available by April 2019 for feedback. A final version will be available in January 2020, and will be fully implemented by 2022. The new curriculum will focus on 6 Areas of Learning and Experience (AOLEs): — expressive arts, — health and wellbeing, — humanities, — literacy, languages and communication, — mathematics and numeracy, — science and technology. A further lot (lot 7) will oversee the outputs for all 6 projects lots. The curriculum is being developed for settings and schools in Wales through a collaborative process between Welsh Government, regional consortia and school based practitioners. Through this contract, Welsh Government is seeking to appoint a range of research partners from higher education and across the research community in the UK and beyond. These partners will be involved in the provision of specific pedagogical expertise aligned with the AoLE disciplines (outlined above) within an educational context. This contract is divided into 7 bespoke contract lots. Tenderers able to demonstrate the necessary expertise across the AoLE disciplines are able to bid to deliver one or more of the required lots. Lot 1: expressive arts action inquiry/development of exemplification resources; Lot 2: health and wellbeing action inquiry/development of exemplification resources; Lot 3: humanities action inquiry/development of exemplification resources; Lot 4: literacy, languages and communication action inquiry/development of exemplification resources; Lot 5: mathematics and numeracy action inquiry/development of exemplification resources; Lot 6: science and technology action inquiry/development of exemplification resources; Lot 7: overarching contract lead lots 1 – 6. This contract lot (Lot 2) is linked to leading cycles of action inquiry and developing exemplification resources in relation to the health and wellbeing area of learning.
