Stakeholder/Funding Management System The Big Lottery Fund funds projects and activities that make communities stronger and more vibrant. We are a distributor of National Lottery funding, established as a non-departmental public body by an Act of Parliament. We support charities, community groups, and people with great ideas — local or national, large or small. We also bring people and groups together: to share experiences, learn from each other and try new ways of working. In order to ensure we can support the Fund’s approach to stakeholder engagement, grant -making and grant management the organisation has recently moved from traditional paper methods to electronic applications in its contacts with applicants and other stakeholders. We have enhanced the functionality of existing systems to begin to realise this improvement. Software solutions of this type and nature are generally not changed often as there is a relatively high investment in installing, implementing and training staff as well as getting our customer base familiar with the new process. New emerging technologies in the market mean that the Fund must continue to evolve and ensure that we are providing our potential and existing grant holders as well as our own funding teams with the most streamlined systems enabling ease of application for our products. To this end, the Fund are now wishing to look at the technology available in the market which aligns to our corporate target around more effective stakeholder engagement and excellence in grant-making. As a first step forward, the Fund will be considering how we use our existing systems versus the potential of emerging technologies in the market. This will help us to form our scope of requirements for our future needs. In addition, and parallel to the pre-market engagement, there is also an internal review underway to map out future business needs ensuring these are aligned to corporate objectives. Over the next few months, the Fund will not be formally approaching the supply chain but wished to advise on the work to date.
