Soft market Testing- PET CT Scanning Facility

Tender description

The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital Trust (RLBUHT) is subcontracted to provide a PET CT service for North Cheshire and Merseyside as part of the National Contract. The service also provides non-contract work and a significant amount of research activity with referrals from outside the Liverpool region. The numbers of patients referred to the PET CT scanner is increasing year on year leading to a requirement for an additional PET CT facility. This cannot be provided within the current hospital build so an alternative solution is required. The RLBUHT requires a PET CT facility to be sited within the Liverpool region to provide access to the people of North Cheshire and Merseyside. The equipment needs to be capable of providing a high throughput of patients. We anticipate this to be in excess of 2500 patients in the first year. The facility must be a static unit. The site must have good access to public transport with easy patient access. The facility is required to be operational within the next 12 months. The RLBUHT would prefer to work on a model that allows the Trust to provide the staff to operate the scanner but would expect the supplier to provide PET CT scanner and complete PET CT facility to support the scanner. The preferred model is to pay for the facility on a cost per case basis. It is important that IT systems are in place which provides good functionality to support the PET CT contract and the Trust Activity.
