Tender description

The framework procurement shall establish a set of suppliers to provide the support Services. This will include both standardised design activity and design and engineering requirement specified by projects/programmes. Subsequent to this procurement, framework call-off contracts shall be awarded: — via mini-competitions or — via direct award for requirements under 150 000 GBP. Network Rail wishes to establish a framework contract to facilitate the effective and efficient procurement of telecommunication design and network integration support services to support its telecommunications services, which include both fixed and radio communications. The scope of the telecommunications services includes, but is not limited to, operational rail telecommunications. In establishing the Framework, Network Rail wishes to identify those suppliers with a capability in the supply of Telecommunications Network Design and Integration services in support of projects initiated by Network Rail Telecommunications. The scope of the telecommunications projects covers: — national, — regional and local system installations, — transmission equipment, — end user terminals, — central control, — switch and management systems, — Station Information and Security Systems. Telecommunications covers: — a wide range of services, — such as voice, data, and video (CCTV). Operational rail telecommunications provide resilient high availability services that are used for the efficient and safe operation of the rail network. The scope of the telecommunications systems within this framework includes both operational rail and ancillary systems, such as those covering business corporate functions. The scope of the engineering services includes: — fixed telecommunications, — telecommunications transmission and radio communications, — voice systems, — data systems, — cyber security, — electrical and mechanical engineering and civil engineering disciplines.
