Tender description

Mitie Energy on behalf of Essex County Council are seeking to appoint provider(s) for the supply of flexible gas and electricity contracts from 1.10.2018 over the next 3 years. There are 2 separate lots for gas and electricity which will be awarded individually. Potential bidders will be required to offer flexible contracts including ability to purchase the commodity component via a trading desk. Service provision and Corporate Social Responsibility elements are of particular interest to Essex County Council and within the electricity tender they have a requirement around supply of REGO (Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin) backed renewable energy across the portfolio. Estimated total value for lot 1 electricity is 8 700 000 GBP per annum and lot 2 Gas is 1 700 000 GBP per annum. There will be an option to extend the Agreement for an additional 12 month period. Flexible purchase, combined non half hourly and half hourly electricity supply contract. Procurement of flexible energy supply contract covering both non half hourly and half hourly electricity metered sites. The commodity component will be purchased via a trading desk using OTC pricing as a minimum. Service provision is of great importance ECC and an agile supplier is required who can provide confidence in the ability to meet bespoke invoicing arrangements. The Authority has plans to sleeve into their import agreement volumes generated by independent generators through PPAs (power purchase agreements). The authority require a supplier who can show commitment to working with the Authority as and when they have PPA agreements in place, and can show confidence that, when required, the supplier can provide additional functionality within the scope of the agreement. There will be an option to extend the agreement for 12 months. A procurement of flexible energy supply contract covering metered gas sites with an estimated annual contract spend of 1 700 000 GBP. The commodity component will be purchased via a trading desk using OTC (over the counter) pricing as a minimum. Service provision is of great importance to Essex County Council and an agile supplier is required who can provide confidence in the ability to meet bespoke invoicing arrangements. There will be an option to extend the Agreement for an additional 12 month period,
