Littledown Playground Refurbishment

Tender description

Bournemouth Borough Council are looking to find a contractor to undertake the play equipment installation and surfacing works at the toddler play area at Littledown. The enclosed toddler play area at Littledown is very popular but the play equipment has now reached the end of its designed life and needs replacing. Due to timescales required for manufacture and delivery, the new play equipment has been procured directly by Bournemouth Borough Council. New junior & toddler multiplay units, carousel & seesaw will be supplied by Eibe Play & new swings will be supplied by Kompan. We are looking for a contractor to undertake the play equipment installation and surfacing works to include the following: • Removal & disposal of existing play equipment, carpet safety surfacing, fencing sections, gates & some seats • Excavation of grass area • Excavations for footings for new play equipment & items • Installation of play equipment • Installing/laying new Impact Absorbing Surface (IAS) • New gates & sections of fencing • New rock seating • Topsoiling It is anticipated that works will start on site during October 2018 and the scheme will be completed by Christmas 2018. Turfing of topsoiled areas will be undertaken by BBC Parks operations team after the above works have been completed. Refurbishment of the existing seating will also be undertaken by others outside of this contract.
