ITT259 Provision of Biomass Wood Chip Fuel for 995KW biomass boiler. - AWARD

Tender description

The University is embarking on a programme to create a wholly new campus on a brown field site providing state-of-the-art facilities and technology, the new campus will open in September 2018 academic year. A 995KW Herz Biofire biomass boiler has been installed in the Energy Centre at Waterside Campus. This will provide the baseload heat to the campus wide district heating system. The boiler uses and infeed auger to a storage silo. The silo has a usable volume of 88m3. The University is seeking a reliable high quality supplier of woodchip to fuel the biomass boiler. It should be noted the University is seeking to supply the fuel in a sustainable way and minimize embedded carbon emissions such as through the woodchip delivery and manufacture. The Contract will include the delivery of an estimated annual requirement of 4,750,000 kWh will be required per year.
