Tender description

Health Education England (HEE) – on behalf of the Building a Digital Ready Workforce (BDRW) programme - invites tender submissions for the provision of a model based around a local area to introduce IM&T Graduates into the NHS, through local organisations (e.g. Trusts) with a clear early career path and accompanied learning support (continued professional development) and mentoring support for the selected graduates. Ideally, and as the programme is aware of existing local area work to support IM&T Graduates in the NHS, we are looking to contract with a delivery partner to part-support/fund an existing or forming model within a local area with a specific view towards ensuring the delivery model is fully set out (for at least 1 intake/cohort) and evaluated so that there is potential to, if viewed as successful, make this model available for all other local areas to take forward. We would be looking for the model to link, where possible, with the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) where there are many applications made from great Graduate candidates (circa 20,000) but only a relatively small number of places available. We expect that the model will have provision to include around 10-20 IM&T Graduates in each intake/cohort with each cohort period – through to embedding them in the system with accompanying early career path – to last around 18 months to 2 years. Additionally, we would be looking for the model to link with local NHS organisations and to match specifically with their IM&T related role needs and to ensure a fast-track scheme model can be provided, supported and tested. 1.2 Contract Period The contract periods are expected to be as follows: IM&T Graduate model - 1-2 intakes/cohorts to commence in late 2018/early 2019 and for the likely duration of up to 2 years within a specific local area, at which point we would anticipate that the Graduates would be embedded into the NHS with early career path supporting and that the model itself would be fully evaluated so it can be quickly reused for the benefit of other local areas across the NHS.
