Tender description

Newport City Council invites tenders from experienced providers to establish a contract for the provision of generic housing-related support services in Newport for people who are aged 55 plus and who meet the eligibility criteria. The tender is for up to 296 hours of housing-related support per week or 8 full time equivalent workers. The contract will be for the provision of a remodeled floating support service which will be delivered by one provider and will replaces 6 existing services currently delivered by 5 organisations. The outcomes achieved from this service will be as follows: 1) A service for people aged 55+ which would be accessible to all 55+ residents of Newport subject to assessed need and not tenure which will meet Supporting People Programme requirements; 2) A housing-related floating support service that would deliver focused, targeted and time-limited support; 3) The new service would form part of the Newport Gateway (a single point of access for supported housing and floating support services) which is managed by the Supporting People Team which will result in and increased level of oversight and monitoring which will ensure effective and efficient service provision. The contract will be for a period of 5 year 4 months with a possible extension of 3 years.
