Summary of the work Working with the System Operating Authority (SOA) you will interface on a daily basis with DE&S to assist the delivery of an exciting IT capability based on Evergreen and Agile principles. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 43 weeks with 11 week unfunded option Latest start date Monday 3 September 2018 Maximum Day Rate £500 per day worked (inclusive of T&S) The post will be based almost entirely at a single site with minimal travel anticipated. Early Market Engagement N/A Who Speclialist Work With You will be a key member of the System Operating Authority, overseeing the integration of a bespoke network. You will work with the delivery organisation, DE&S, on a daily basis. What Specialists Work On • Assist in the development of service migration planning • Assist in the planning of Operational Readiness Evaluation activities • Assist with change-management activities across the project • Present solutions in written or oral reports • Prepare documentation and present progress reports • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to project team • Communicate ideas for improving Department processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others • Keep the Senior Project Manager and the Project Delivery lead informed about any issues that may impact the project or overall programme Full TORs upon award. Skills & Experience • Demonstrable experience of working on a programme that has delivered or is delivering a classified strategic Command and Control system in a Military context • Demonstrable experience of working in a high pressure, conflicting priority environment that delivers equipment to units within Front Line Commands • 5 years of experience of the delivery of IT projects • Working Knowledge of ITIL V.3 and how it is applied • Working knowledge of JSP440, JSP 480, JSP604 • Ability to Lead a team • Proficient in MS Project and the MS Office 2007 • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills • Knowledge of the definition of service management processes and implementations within a customer environment, preferably in support of large scale implementations and transition to BAU • Experience with Business Change, preferably within the public sector • Experience with the implementation of service management toolsets within a live customer environment • IT Transition/Refresh/Upgrade Projects • Strong problem solving skills • Strong communication skills as the role will be primarily customer focused and will involve managing customer and stakeholder expectations Nice to Haves • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. • Knowledgeable of transition, upgrades, refresh projects in an Agile environment. Work Location Hereford Working Arrangments 40 hrs (8hrs Mon - Fri) Security Clearance MOD DV required on day 1 of the appointment due to the sensitivity of the role.
