Tender description

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board intends to enter into a contract variation with its current Pathology Managed Laboratory Services Contract provider, Abbott Laboratories Limited, to extend its existing contract. This contract extension will ensure business continuity for the Pathology Service within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board whilst a new procurement exercise is undertaken to award a new contract for the provision of Pathology Managed Laboratory Services, to be based at the Specialist and Critical Care Centre (SCCC) Grange University Hospital at Llanfrechfa (which is due to be completed in 2021). The duration of the contract extension will be 18 months with an option to extend for up to a further 12 months. Prior to this contract extension ending the HB intend to run a restricted tender process to ensure service continuity up to the opening of the new grange hospital. Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is notifying the market of its intention to enter into a contract variation with its current Pathology Managed Laboratory Services Contract provider, Abbott Laboratories Limited, to extend its existing contract. This contract extension will ensure business continuity for the Pathology Service within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board whilst a restricted tender process is run to provide service continuity from the point that this contract extension ends and up to the point where a further procurement exercise is undertaken and awarded for the provision of Pathology Managed Laboratory Services, to be based at the new Specialist and Critical Care Centre (SCCC) Grange University Hospital at Llanfrechfa (which is due to be completed in 2021). The duration of the contract extension will be 18 months with an option to extend for up to a further 12 months.
