Tender description

The Langport River Project LOT 4 - Boardwalk - Specification for Tender Overview: The requirement is for a raised boardwalk along a riverbank that is prone to flooding on occasion. It must be suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, mobility scooters, wheelchairs, buggies, prams and the like. To allow these vehicles to pass each other a number of passing places that are the same width as the boardwalk will also be required. Also a number of resting places for benches (supplied by others) similar to passing places will be required. Please note this is supply only. If you wish to quote for installation this must done separately with details on our website www.langport.life The Product: It is anticipated that the boardwalk is to have two lines of bearers on 900mm long support posts at 1.5m centres sunk partly into the ground leaving a gap of approx. 120mm allowing any flood water to pass through. The bearers will then be covered with anti-slip recycled plastic decking with 90mm upstands bolted down onto both ends of the decking. Materials: Dark brown recycled plastic with all posts pointed and drilled and bearers drilled. Fixings: Galvanised bolts, nuts and washers with stainless steel screws to be supplied. Overall length: 550m + 20m access + 15m access + 20m access. Width: 1.2m. Passing places: 9 @ 3m long and 1.2m width. Resting places: 3 @ 3m long and 1.2m width. Summary: You should note that this project is subject to a successful outcome to a Rural Development Growth Fund Grant application.
