Tender description
Replacement of the main high voltage power cable to Port of Sunderland no 134 35 tonne portal quay crane. The cable specification itself is not only to be of a specialist high voltage type but needs to be a weight of 2.3 kg per metre and have a 39.5 mm diameter (including a protective outer sheath). These express requirements are necessary as both the cable weight and diameter are the maximum that can fit the cable reeling drum mechanism (which both plays and collects cable as the crane travels along the length of the quay) attached to the crane.
